INNOVATIONS IN THE SKI AREA: UNIQUE IN THE WORLD!

Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis sparkles and shines not only due to its numerous awards from a wide range of ski area assessments. Innovations which are unique in the world were also turned to reality for the first time right here, sometimes even developed here. For example, the world’s first child-safe family chairlift; or the interactive cablecar cabins; or the “Fisser Flieger”, a flying dragon in the heart of the ski area; or the 30 “Magic Carpets”, the safe-and-simple conveyor belts for the kids at the “Kinderschneealm” and in “Berta’s Kinderland”.

The world's first child-safe family chairlift “Gampen” permits absolutely safe transportation of even the tiniest of ski tots as of age three. An automatically closing seat bar prevents children from slipping under the bar during the ride up the mountain. At the same time, an automatically adjusting conveyor belt at the entrance adapts to the height of even the shortest passengers. The velocity of the chair while taking your seat is three times slower than usual, and - of course - the chairlift is equipped with seat heating and weather domes.

The speaking cablecar cabins on the “Almbahn” to the “Zwölferkopf”, highest point of the Fiss ski area, tell tales of the alpine animals. Each of the 17 cablecar cabins is dedicated to a different alpine animal. Passengers are accompanied by lynx and stag, snow grouse and squirrel, woodpecker, mountain hare and marmotte all the way up the mountain...no wonder the kids only want to get into the “talking cablecar cabins” at the lower station!!
