Weather report

A high-pressure system is situated over western and central Europe. It is flanked by a low-pressure system west of the Iberian Peninsula and another over southeastern Europe. On the weather map, the entire pattern resembles the Greek letter omega, which is why this general weather pattern is also called the “omega pattern.” On Wednesday, the weather will continue with a mix of sun and clouds. Heat-induced thunderstorms are now very rare. On Thursday, the center of the Omega high will gradually move further over our region. The sun will mostly set the tone, and cumulus clouds will generally remain harmless. In addition, the record-breaking June heat will continue to intensify here, with temperatures expected to peak on Friday. This coming weekend will remain extremely warm to hot, though the air will become increasingly muggy and unstable. As a result, the likelihood of heat thunderstorms will increase.
