The weather-determining high-pressure system, centered over the North Atlantic, will increasingly steer cold winter air masses from Northern Europe in our direction over the upcoming week. This means that winter will make itself felt once again before the end of the year, at least in terms of temperatures. However, there will be little sign of this on Monday. With bright sunshine, it will be relatively mild again, especially in the mountains. However, the wind will already be turning northwesterly. By Tuesday, this will turn into a brisk north wind, which will lead to a significant drop in temperature and bring some high fog-like cloud cover to the lower valley areas. However, it will remain sunny in the mountains, and this will not change significantly on the last day of the year. High fog will remain an issue in the lower valley areas, especially on New Year's Eve. According to the latest forecast, the wind is likely to shift back to west-southwest in the new year and continue to pick up. However, this will only make the weather slightly more changeable, and the frost will weaken somewhat. Overall, however, the weather will remain pleasant and dry.
