Planseggbahn NEW
from winter 2026/27
The existing Planseggbahn, in operation since 1997, will be replaced by a state-of-the-art 8-seater chairlift by Leitner starting in winter 2026/27. Up to 17,000 guests use this highly frequented lift on peak days. With an investment of around 30 million euros, Seilbahn Komperdell GmbH is focusing on improved quality, comfort, and capacity.
The new lift features heated seats, weather protection bubbles with an automatic closing system, and child-safe safety bars. Transport capacity will increase from 3,000 to 4,000 persons per hour, while speed rises to 6 m/s, reducing travel time to under 5 minutes. A total of 91 chairs will be in operation, with a sample chair already on display at the Komperdell valley station.
A special highlight is the autonomous mountain station, which is fully system-monitored. Nevertheless, a staff member will continue to be present on site to ensure the highest quality standards.
New panorama bar
from winter 2026/27
A new gastronomic highlight is being created on the roof of the chairlift station at the Planseggbahn valley station. Similar to a traditional umbrella bar, it will offer a partially covered area with the option to open the roof on sunny days. Around 90 seats are available indoors, with an additional 150 seats on the sun terrace. Spacious restroom facilities are included.
The panorama bar provides the perfect spot for a quick stop between ski runs.
The new Planseggbahn marks another milestone in the history of Seilbahn Komperdell GmbH and will impress both guests and locals with enhanced quality and comfort. Opening is scheduled for December 2026.
