Segway Trekking in tyrol
winter sports in a different way
Skiing, snowboarding, skifox, skidoo... been there, done that?
It is initially a bit of a wobbly affair – the Segway PT (Personal Transporter), a "standing scooter" with 4.7 hp, works only by shifting your weight. When you place your weight on the balls of your feet, the Segway moves forward; if you lean back, it rolls backwards, too. The dynamic handlebar helps you turn corners and even perform elegant pirouettes in the snow. Broad, chunky tyres ensure off-road and snow mobility, and except for a quiet whirring and whoops of laughter among the riders, the world's first self-balancing human transporter is virtually noiseless.
The fun begins on an obstacle course in Fiss where you have the chance to practise moving about on this unusual scooter. Once you've mastered these initial challenges, you're ready to venture out into the open country and demonstrate your new skills.
