Weather report

Powerful low-pressure systems over the Atlantic will continue to determine the weather at least until the middle of the month. The high over Russia is losing influence, bringing us a very lively, and at the northern edge of the Alps also strong, westerly flow from Saturday to Monday. This will be accompanied by a weak disturbance, which will bring repeated precipitation, especially in the western foothills towards the northern edge of the Alps. The snow line will rise to around 2000 meters above sea level. Increasingly mild Atlantic air will spread and cause very changeable weather conditions in general. It will remain largely dry in the inner Alps and towards the main Alpine ridge. However, the sun will not have an easy time of it in these regions either. There will only be harmless cloud fields marking the high-altitude warming at the beginning of next week. Precipitation will no longer be an issue. And a high-pressure area with plenty of sunshine will join the weather scene from Tuesday onwards. In combination with the warm air supply, a temporary thaw is expected.
